The TEXT2TEACH alliance is good but we must consider some factors that might affect especially to the learners. Not all learners can afford this one, especially to those who are in rural areas. The teachers cannot assure that they can easily assess if there is a progress in the learnings of the pupils. However, it is good because it is not time-consumable and less effort to exert but may lead to the learners to be dependent enough to these technologies.

Hi! Thank you for your comments about Text2Teach. Let me clarify a few points:
TumugonBurahinYou are right. The project is being implemented by an alliance. But it is not being sold to students. We provide the Text2Teach package to public elementary schools through a counterpart funding strategy between the Text2Teach alliance, and the local government and at times some local private institutions of the city or municipality where the project will be implemented. The national and local DepEd is also very much a partner. The project provides a helpdesk and technical support to ensure that the schools' technical and pedagogical concerns are answered. Third party evaluation will also be done to measure project impact on teachers and students. The project has been evaluated twice before by 2 independent external evaluators. Results of monitoring and these evaluation studies showed higher learning gains in Math, Science and English. An over-all improvement in classroom behavior/discipline was observed as students are more engaged in post-viewing discussions which resulted in better retention in all subject areas. Teachers attested higher scores of children in post-viewing evaluation activities. The tools are controlled by the teachers/schools, not the students. But the project uses mobile technology to deliver educational videos to classrooms, even in remote areas, so the kids can see another dimension to the use of mobile phones - this time for education. Schools can continue to benefit from the project for years to come for as long as they take good care of the equipments given to them. Again this has been proven based on monitoring results.
